Soil Layer Table (LAYER)

The Soil Layer File is designed to handle attributes which vary in a vertical direction.

Relationships

• A record in this file is unique with respect to SOILTYPE + LAYER_NO.
• This file can be linked to the CMP and NAME tables via the SOILTYPE field.

A field name with a trailing _N indicates the number of observations used in determining the value. These fields are OPTIONAL and may not be filled in. A code of zero (0) indicates an estimated value.

Example:

BD_N indicates the number of observations used in determining the value for BD (bulk density).
